It has been a hard time to make connections and friends for those new to the Comox Valley. If you are a Newcomers’ member, thank you for participating under trying conditions. Our volunteers were flexible as public health orders changed. They did a great job of providing ways to connect virtually as we faced more restrictions.
Social calendars are now opening, and in-person outdoor activities are taking place. It has been wonderful to meet some of you who have been Zoom names and faces over the last months. However, as we keep a close eye on the Public Health Orders, we have chosen not to hold indoor meetings just yet.
If you are not a member but are a woman and living in the Comox Valley for less than two years, Comox Valley Newcomers’ Club is a wonderful place to meet people and learn about this lovely area.
We get together on the second Monday of the month (second Tuesday if it’s a statutory holiday), and non-members are welcome to attend a meeting. Please contact our Membership Convener and she will send you a link if we are still meeting on Zoom.
Monday and Friday walks are continuing. You do not need to be a member to try out these walks and can find details about them on this website.
This is my fourth and last year with the Comox Valley Newcomers’ Club. I have met so many wonderful people and have friendships that will continue long after I leave the Club. Join, take part, and volunteer when you can! It’s awesome to know that there are always people just waiting to welcome you.
See you at an event soon.
President, Comox Valley Newcomers’ Club
