President’s Message

Hello Newcomers!

We are excited to introduce ourselves as the new co-presidents for Comox Valley Newcomers’ Club for the year 2026-2027.

Kim arrived in the valley in the summer of 2024 with her rescue dog, Violet. She feels like the valley chose her and is very happy it did. Not only are the people warm and welcoming, but so are the trails, beaches and forests. Benson, a failed foster, joined Kim’s small pack in 2025 and they love exploring the area together, with others.

Karin has been here since August of 2025, and had already heard about the Newcomers’ Club more than a year before moving here. “When I started thinking about moving to the valley, I visited the local curling club to get an idea of the culture of the place. After only a few minutes of looking around the club, two women approached me encouraging me to join the curling club and more than anything, emphasized that I had to join Newcomers’ as soon as I settled in. Great advice! ”

We have both enjoyed the activities and opportunities for friendship that the Newcomers’ Club has offered us. From Wandering the Valley, hikes and Appy nights, to gardening and wine tasting, there truly is something for everyone!

We look forward to being part of welcoming new arrivals to the valley and working with club members to provide a place where everyone feels at home and can grow new friendships. We want to hear your ideas and we support a wide variety of activities.
